Introduction
Preterm thrombocytopenia is one of the most common and serious complications in premature infants. Chronic thrombocytopenia can lead to a variety of symptoms, including severe bleeding. Platelet transfusions are one of the frequently used measures to treat premature infants with severe thrombocytopenia. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the effectiveness of platelet transfusions in premature infants with severe thrombocytopenia in preventing bleeding.
Methods
The study was conducted on a group of 100 premature infants with severe thrombocytopenia. 50 of them received regular platelet transfusions, and the remaining 50 were a control group that did not receive transfusions. Bleeding and other complications associated with thrombocytopenia were monitored and compared between the two groups over a 6-month period.

Results
The group receiving platelet transfusions had significantly lower rates of bleeding and thrombocytopenia-related complications compared to the control group. The premature infants who received transfusions also had shorter hospitalization times and needed fewer invasive medical procedures.
Discussion
The results of this study support the effectiveness of platelet transfusions in premature infants with severe thrombocytopenia in preventing bleeding. Transfusions are an important tool in managing this serious complication of prematurity. Previous studies have also shown similar results, further confirming their effectiveness.

Platelet transfusions are an effective means of preventing and treating bleeding in premature infants with severe thrombocytopenia. Their use leads to a reduction in the incidence of thrombocytopenia-related complications and shortens the duration of hospitalization.
